Replacing wheel centres

I've got two rims with munted centres in them - one is cracked the other has oval holes.

I'm looking at about $140 each for brand new 15x10 rims so I was just wondering if it's cheaper to have the centres replaced?

Could anyone suggest a place in Auckland I could find out more?

you can get new wheel centers from elite wheel company in chch, do a web search and you will find them, have just ordered 4 centers to change off set in my rims, $60 each, 6 stud with D holes nascar style, meaning strong centers, grind old centers out, setup and weld new one in!!!

last time i used elite to ,ake mod my rims they stuffed 3 of them,sent them back down,they cut out,rewelded but then just spray painted their cock up rather than re blasting and re powder coating so i edid up paying 400 for powder coating but now have rusted rims ,if i were you id just buy new rims,by the time you factor in freight etc it wont be worth the hassle

Hmmm, I probably wouldn't go as far as sending the rims down there, more buying the centres and getting someone to weld them up for me....

Actually just remembered a guy in Manukau who could do it for me...

by the time you buy the new centres, pay for the freight, get the old centres cut out and new ones welded in, get the rims sand blasted and powder coated you'd probably end up spending more than the cost of a new rim?

Mmmmmmm, that is a good point.

I'm not too keen on welding them myself or else that would be the best option and then just a spray a coat of paint over the welds.

just buy brand new and be done with it,way less hassle,my brother n law and a mate just got a set of 5rims each 15x10 -44 @110 each,think from some block in hamilton,might be worth more now but ill be getting mine from him when i get the funds together

yeh tony sounds right,has a safari maybe??all done up for sale at one stage,might be worth giving him a call,they did buy 10 rims though so that might have got them some extra discount

Yeah poor guy had a safari - turbo, 37" MTRs etc

I might drop in when I'm next in that part of the country.
