Melted a wire and blew some fuses on my Hilux trying to start the new motor. Needs someone who knows what they're doing I think. Also got radiator mounted and plumbed in and Airbox and snorkel set up.

Managed to get the most awesome 10 foot finish, and its got character, stuck in the paint I counted:

 6 sand flys

 1 mosquito

 1 Piece of dry grass

 3 Dog hairs

 2 runs

and a bit of shitty coverage on the roof.

Pretty good for a back yard jam job

Just gotta keep the damn cats of it now

Pulled the gearbox out of mudnutz bush truck to replace the clutch, got there and it was raining but he has a great garage and we kept dry. Decovered that the gearbox mount was broken and the flywheel needs some attention, so it's all in parts.

That makes three trucks that I am now working and they are all in parts... you think there is a pattern here

was the front off the ground

mine came home with next to no power steering

so the other night the front wheels were jacked off the ground and it was started up and whilst I went full lock to full lock about 30 times, my mate was topping up the fluid until it stopped stealing it.

lowered truck back to ground, started it up and it works a treat

NA, KEEP HIM AWAY!!!! Just joking

Anyway did the sailing thing this morning, the predicted 15 knot southerly turned into a 40 knot northerly :? :? :?

Which resulted into us cancelling sailing. In the meantime we had to leave our disabled sailors out there sailing away (they competed in the world champs this year so know what the are doing  ) and rescue the local teenage laser fleet.
Every yacht was upside down and couldn't get upright. And when they did the wind just picked them up at blew them away
Wasn't quite so funny for one yacht that ran out of room, highspeed out of control meeting up with the wharf, which they disappeared under, end result one yacht with no rigging.

So off home early to clean the garage out. How the fark do you gather so many spares in such short time???

Have a set of tailight bulbs and wiring for a 40 series that I will donate to someone, some nissan safari mudflaps (anyone want them or they go to the dump??) and various hilux bits that 2's can have. And of course some other nissan crap that Taz can have

Went up Ngaroma and towed bloody Nissans all day long. :P

Just had a rather long drive home, kept overheating because none of the locals would let us use a hose to clear the radiator.

Screw it down with wheels straight ahead then check it from lock to lock. Should feel a slight drag as it goes through the straight ahead position.

Went out with the manawatu club to Gordan Kear, Was good to get out and throw the truck arround!! Didn't break it either, makes me more eagre to work on it now!!
Did take out my front bumper with a tree! but not to bad!
Couldn't keep up with the big boy's who made it to the top, little lada doesn't like 35" rutt's! but enjoyed the other track anyway!

somehow my misses managed to volinteer herself to join me, still not sure how she did that  so got a few photo's to sort through and put up (when I work out how to...)
It's just more fun in a lada !!
