Flatm8 was just telling me about this! its utter bullsh*t! thought were ment to be trying to save the world? use less fuels and oils? so I buy a little road bike for running around town and I might as well buy an old amircan V8, vintage regos cheap!

easy solution is to not pay registration, only a small fine if you get stopped and no fine if you don't

how often do you get pulled up on a bike???? I can see alot of bikers going this way and I wouldnt blame them!

The Govt obviously hasn't thought about the impact of this on our carbon emissions and the impact it'll have on the average age of the road fleet.

Many bikers I've spoken too will replace their as-new bikes with vintage cages. Car pooling and buses were ruled out.

pfft, a fine for not having a rego is 200 bux. Chuck it on hold is a no brainer. I'd have more of a chance of winning lotto powerball than a cop in a commodore trying to catch me on my 160hp gixxer.

rangimotors wrote:one of the problems i see with it is that motor bikes can be one of those leasure activity items like a hotrod, 4wd etc etc Why is it that if i have 2 cars a 4wd and 2 motor bikes that i pay rego for all of them including acc levies? Surley I can only use one at a time so why am i paying so much more acc?

Lets say i was a bike collector and had 10 bikes and only ride one once a week, is it really fear for me to be paying 10 times more acc than someone who has one bike and rides it everyday? Surely the everyday rider is more at risk. Perhaps it should be charged perperson rather than per motor vechicle.

I see this one as the best point of the lot.

I pay x4 ACC levy's a year coz I own a car, 4X4 n 2 bikes.

Why should I pay X4 ACC levy's when I can only use one at a time?

I don't mind paying taxes. I'm sure we all don't. it just needs to be fair.

The tax system needs a major rethink in so many areas, it's not funny.

yeah but while you're blasting away they got your rego. So where's the point?
And if you get caught with a plate that doesn't belong to the bike, how's that going to effect your insurance? just don't have a prang i guess and be a good boy on the road.
it sucks aye.

Darwin nomination for you.

Read you statement again.... Doesn't do a lot for the argument of bike riders being safe and the issue being others on the road, or any other vaild argument for that matter. It is my expirence people that make statements of that kind are all blame, no responsibility.

ok, ignore acc's own stats of bike injuries, and it all makes sense. in the mean time

an average rider on a 600cc+ bike by far has the upperhand in a police chase. weather , location and how much gas you have left change the factors a lot but once you run once, its hard to stop knowing how easy it is to get away and avoid costly fines + demerits + losing licence = losing job.

if you get caught you go to caught for failing to stop. lose licence for ~6 months. maybe they need tougher penalties for failing to stop........ the bike crusher lol
