spent all day sat cleaning the garage out so i can access the LR. Reorganised it so I have a workbench, welder under the workbench, drill setup and crawl space under the rover. First job, fix fan for surf so I can get it back on the road and get wof and rego. The fan is a 4 litre ford v8 one (i think, got it off shane so he'd know) best fan ever, moved so much air - yes moved being the keyword. Towing the LR back from costa saw the waterpump eat the back of the fan and its finally completely shredded itself now. There wernt even brushes left, just braided wire. Where the brushes rub on the shaft there trenches where copper once was!

With no money to replace I reluctantly pulled the old rovers fan from the garage roof. This is a fan I didnt give to turoa cause it was so farked! Pulled it completely apart, unseized it all and got the motor going. Luckily the motor bolts into where the old ford one goes and now I just need to backspace it so the offset is the same otherwise munched radiator. Ultimately I want to go back to the old setup as its such a good fan setup so if anyone knows of any falcon v8 fans sing out

Just need to drill and mount. the fan blade is slightly smaller so the cowling won't work as good.

back into the garage tonight to finish off.

never heard of a 4 litre ford V8, 5 litre ones, but not 4

what exactly are ya after dude, my mate is a ford fiend from way back and may have something lying around

if it is indeed a 5 litre ford V8, then I'm picking you're after an electric one off the later model injected motors :?: :?:

pull

Thanks. Keeping an eye our for possible push fans. Not enough space between engine & radiator for a pull fan.
