Looking at a new set of rubber

I am looking for a new set of 35's, so far I have looked at the following:

Kumho 834, STT Cooper Armor-Tek3, Trepador and Bighorns.

I have a safari non-turbo and have had 35x14 Pitball tyres on and span them well enough to get me through a mud bog so I am not really lacking power just lacking instant power

I am wanting something that is good on road and off road as we will be doing trips from Wellington to Taupo every now and then... so not really asking to much from them....

Bang for buck = Bighorns (I have them in 35's on my 80 and they seem alright )

Kuhmo 834, have no experience with but they look really average TBH

Cooper STT = sweeeeet tyres (wear really really well) but a little more pricey than the rest

Trepadors people seem to have a bit of success with i'd compare them as a slightly more expensive bighorn and there directional so your spare is one way unless you have a mis-matched spare

Simex wear quick as shit on road but are a good tyre (im putting et2's on my zook in 32" soon

Creepys seem to go real well in wellington region on nissans as they have the weight to bag them, not a true 35" though and more expensive then trepador and bighorn

Had a set of the old style Cooper STT's a few years back and found them awesome on the road but not agressive enough off road and like Mr0 said pretty pricey, my 33" Coopers cost more than my 35" Simexes

Everyone seems to find creepies good on heavy trucks except for me, mine are only just drivable on the road now with between 600-900 gm weights per wheel to ballance them

The old ST's are crap the new ones are good, we have alot of customers who love them and claim rediclious amounts of k's of road driving before needing replacement but yes, $$$

And yea creepys suck to balance

I have 4 sets of tyres . If I had to have just 1 set I would settle for my 35x12.5 BFG mud terrains.

Good wearing on the the road and at 15psi are reasonably good off road.

Yep, have looked at them but don't really like them, there isn't much tread on them to start with and I want a tyre that is going to last...

Pitbulls were great (borrowed them) and they really did the job, a bit noisy on the road but if you pump them up then they are ok

Again if I had the money I would buy a set of them as well...

i have ran a few different types of tyres on my saf,buckshots,bighorns,trepedors,creepys,simex's and i ave got the kl71's on now,creepys great if ur saf has a turbo,but found the 35 simex's real good ,simex's good for the hard stuff but not as daily driver wear pretty quick,
so far i rate the kl71's better than the bighorns,trepedors,buckshots,and the kl71's have more tread from new than the rest
but hey its ur money and ur truck

Ive just put KL71's on my surf....ive yet to use them off road but on road so far have been great...are actually quieter than my old AT's .

Ok, so I have my new rubber, brought some Kumho KL71's, I couldn't say no at the sharp price I got them for. Can't really say what I got them for sorry, but it was through Hadley Tyres in Lower Hutt.



So now I am on the hunt for a 35' spare tyre, not worried if it is WOFable, just want it to hold air.
