mitsubishi challenger

my friend challenger has spat out it second rear shock ARB 40mm lift kit, it seems that the factory bump stop doesn't stop the axle moving upward so over compressing the shock till it dies and pagro's have a simualar problem?
89 safari, pto winch, 33x15 simexs. sliders,75mm lift . turbo intercoolered

I have never had a problem with my shocks coxsy , maybe have another look at a different challenger and see if the bump stops are the same size..
