The petrol gearboxes have the short coarse spline input shaft and the diesel gearboxes have the long fine spline input shaft.... don't get the wrong one?

The early 40 series cruiser gearboxes hang off the back of the bell housing with no gearbox mounts or cross member, the later 40 series had a gearbox cross member and a rubber gearbox mount, you may have to find a later 40 series gearbox if your truck has the cross member and gearbox mount?

yea i have a 3 spd box and transfer in my spare parts department.... the only real difference that i can tell is that the 1st gear on the 4spd is a lot lower ratio, which is great for crawling with the 36" simex's. i ran the 3spd for about 10yrs and its awesome with normal sized wheels and was even not too bad with the 36" wheels but the crawl speed was pretty quick.

so to sum up yea i have one
