terrano choke cable knob ....question

hi am at present taking the dash out of my d21 terrano and i have it all ready to fall out apart from the bloody choke cable knob !!!!! how the hell do you get it off so you can slip it thru the dash .......its driving me mad help please ASAP...

And when you put it back on, you may need to carefully extend the shaft and hold it with some needle nosed pliers.
Just remember to release the knob when you go to start the truck again after this.

BTW it is more likely a manual throttle if you are talking about the diesel engine.

yes its a throttle knob......damn thing really gave me a hard time. cheers
