Anyone interested in Cant. new year's trip?

Post by albundy »

4 days off, trying to think of something to do with family.
1. Freedom camp up Kaikoura way, fishing etc, do some rockhopping up the rivers.
2. Head up Conway for a few days.
3. Head to the Westcoast, but then everyone's there at the mo.

Anyone interested in doing something, family orientated over this time, post your ideas up and lets organise something.

We will be in the Okuku most days for a swim, $$$ dictate that is as far as we can go from Rangoon. Say hello if you are out that way and see a Mum and 2 girls with a Prado!!!

Could be keen on getting away from ChaCha though. Where to? Somewhere to 4wd and freely camp in Godzone of course.

What about Molesworth???? Never been there, I know it's easy, but could be a good time waster.

I'd quite happily ride a Penny Farthing thru there.
Just long gravel roads, big open country and hot.
Driven vintage cars through both Rainbow and Molesworth several times.

Rainbow slightly more interesting and there is the track off from Lake Tennyson, though thats now closed from the river. The one that Peter Vahry has talked about in the Doc paper.

Both Rb & Mw are roads, not tracks.

Just been into Macaulay hut and it was magic. I will never tire of that scenery and it should definitely be on your option list
