I have a 95 nz new L300 4x4 SWB
2.4L petrol 16 valve ,injected, 97 kw,rear LSD
A grunty motor with good fuel econ if you drive normally. It will tow a big boat peice of piss

Also 2L petrol 8 valve carb, they are a bit lethargic for a 4x4 van & towing but motor parts are cheap as chips

My brother had a couple of 2.5 turbo diesel models,
motors seem to be alright, but are known to drop valves,in turn a nice big hole in the piston.

The main thing to check is for underbody rust and the top of the pillars near the windscreen and along the roof gutters
Front CV joints,
Gearbox bearings

If inspecting one,put it on a hoist and give it a good going over,
A good 4x4 van for the money IMHO. 8)
