What a great day

Left M-boro at 10:30 got back at 5:45. A couple of pic stops and lunch and we only have seen about 1/3 of the trails available to us. Thanks everyone who took a chance on an unknown trail with a newwer member, hope you had a great time also

One broken CV, a dented guard and a park light that went walkies was the only reported damage.

Will post my pics later, time for a nanna nap

Awesome pics Skid :D
Tho on a bit of a off-note for me, After realising how many scratches are in my shiny kinda put off for going through trails that will scratch the paint now,

The zuzu is scratched all down both sides and the recently repainted bonnet insert has a couple of biggies. :x
So yea kinda put off but happy to go on the shiny tracks,

Thats 4x4ing for ya but i know now, Shinys stay on shiny tracks if they dont wanna get scratched  .

Think ill be on the search for a 2nd 4x4

Off to the panelbeaters soon to get looked at, more $ to be spend.

But yea as said above was a unknown trail so i took the risk.

it was shiny friendly

in my opinion, those tracks were very well manicured.

if ya dont want a single scratch, then ya best to stick to coastal trips and motorways and supermarket carparks.

go to almost every website belonging to 4wd clubs in NZ and you will find that they state on thier shiny trips, that bush scratches can be expected in 95% of the trips.

its the nature of 4wding, you have to drive in inhospitable terrain, otherwise theres not much point in having the 4wd in the first place.

otherwise invest in a bloody big buffing tool and a shiteload of polish, coz ya gonna be needing it dude.

dont worry about it, its there to be used right? from the pics looked like an awsome trail, whats a few scratches to see awsome country like that.

then again, that 2nd truck would be more fun

Yea true guys, Thanks Skid, as yea was my 2nd ever trip so my knowledge of the actual 4x4ing stuff was pretty limited.

Dont mean to be a bit of a whinger about it all

I guess im just real fussy :?
Dont feel bad motorhead :(
As said i didnt really know what a shiny trip actualy was,
Most parts of the track were fine it was just the last bits where i started to rub against the bush etc.

For now im gonna stick to the coast trips etc. And yea back to the supermarket and highway.

Otherwise i really enjoyed the experience, and would like to do more of that sort of terrain and of course harder as time goes on but thatl be in a different vehicle.

For the buffing panelbeaters can prob sort that out as knowing me ill stuff it up.

Sorry if i affended anyone.

I do agree with you basics in the fact brought it to use it, but damaging or marking it up isnt something i wanna do to this isuzu considering only 6 in its color wanna keep it nice.

Def gonna look for a 2nd 4x4, not sure what type i love landies but that can be said with 100s of other 4x4s

Edit
woops , Cheers for the comment above Smurf :D

I gotta say. When I saw pictures of that 4X4 of sprey's on the track i thought, man, he's a real keen off roader.
Coz like skid said, most shiny tracks will give your truck scratches.

If you see a mean as looking offroad truck without scratches? It's an on road truck, period. 8)

I have found unless driving fast through gorse and broom (oops) that erratic woman driving Pak n Save shopping trolleys which have a natural steering motion when unaided to run into one's pride and joy to cause more paint damage than all but a decent tree branch.

Therefore I conclude, off roading is safer on paint work (and sanity) than supermarkets.

its all good sprey

keep your wagon, coz as weird as it is, its still one cool looking vehicle and theres faaark all of them and the mods you have done to yours actually make it look sort of horny (that'll bite me in the ass)

so keep it as your daily driver and save ya pennies for a cruiser or a little 413 suzuki for those scratchy shiny trips, or better still buy an 80 or a LWB safari and kit it out for freedom camping and join me on a wee trip I'm planning for next year

sprey. My truck has shit loads of scratches and even a couple of dents round it. But that doesn't stop people from telling me it only gets used for supermarket carparks.

Good on ya for getting out there and giving it a go mate.

Having a truck that you can bash around in is the best way to experience offroading I recon. Get an old Toyota.
