OIL LINES FOR A 4.2 TURBO

Post by minefield »

Hi All ,

I am in the process of fitting a top mounted turbo to my Nissan.

Oil lines; The alternator is oil feed,, Is it possible to put a "t" junction in on the oil feel and take it to the turbo.
and also put a "T" junction on the alternator oil feed return return line .

Or is there somewhere else to take the oil from and for the oil return

I'm sure you use a feed from the block (should be a "blank" fitted) and return directly to the sump?

we fitted a turbo kit to a nissan patrol a while ago, we welded a 1/2 BSP welding socket to side of sump, (drained oil first) then using a sharp pry bar, we drove it thru the side of the sump thru the welded socket, creating a hole for the oil to return thru, by driving a sharp bar thru you get no swarf to clean out and you don have to pull the sump of a dirty filthy diesel :)

We took the one out on exaust side as it allowed for a shorter direct feed up to the turbo .
