question about odo replacement. terrano d21

Post by tracta »

hey all.

noticed today that the odometer has jumped by 100 k. should be 170 k ( ish) and is now 270. I was pretty pissed about so the missus took it to the mechanic down the road, he said he may know someone who can wind it back, but said go talk to a car dealer in town first. She did this, he called LTSA (or what ever they are called) and apperantly was told (and this is related back to me from the missus) that we need to replace it, and once this is done contact them and advise them of waht the new reading is and then the RUC will start from that amount.

does anyone know if this is correct? and is it really that simple?

if it is does anyone have a spare guage cluster with about 170k on it? ( id like to try and keep it as close as I can).

to my mind this seems to simple but maybe im wrong. Ive checked the LTSA website but cant find any thing about it on there.

thanks guys.

hi I could be wrong but guessing it would be the same as replacing a hubo on a heavy vehicle but they need you to eep it for a while and they might ask to see it
best idea call into local agent vnz or aa and others and ask them and go back to them when you do change the cluster
best of luck
