Rated Tow Hooks

Post by nick.falconer »

Hi

I want to mount tow hooks to the front and rear of my pajero but I don't know where I should put them or how to mount them correctly. Any photos would be great.

It is a 89 SWB Pajero leaf sprung rear.

Thanks

Will post pics Tuesday. Mounted front left just behind bumper, used one factory 12mm hole in frame and drilled a second. For the rear also used a factory hole and drilled the other on the left side. Used a metal cutting dic on my angle grinder to remove a bit of the bottom of the bumper and remove sharp cutting edges. Hope this helps.

2 views of front hook. Rear M12 grade 8.8 bolt goes through factory crush sleve, front bolt through doubled frame rail using large thick washer.

Rear hook using one factory hole and other drilled. Slight trimming of bumper to remove all sharp edges :D

Thanks for the photos. I will probably be able to do the front one with some cutting of the bash plate, but the rear one I will have to find somewhere else as that is where the spring attaches to the chassis.

I was thinking for the rear I will have to go to a tow bar shop and get a bracket made up and replace my current tow bar and swap between the two depending on what needs doing.
