Heavy duty clutch worth it?

Post by mudmike »

Hi guys, doing a solid flywheel swap from stuffed duell mass on my kzj78 with 1kz. Do you think a HD clutch is worth the extra $350? it's just a heavier cover. opinions would be good.
thanks

can they tell you the difference in the pressure plate pressures between a std clutch and a hd one?

If you've got big tyres and diff locks you'd need as much clutch as you can get?

Na, don't bother if you enjoy replacing standard ones every two years

Well worth the money otherwise

Ive got twin lockers but choose only 31's cos of the big chains I run. I have had no probs (touches wood)
However I would like Sadam choose the HD option.

Whilst you are at it, spigot bearing, release bearing and what's the front oil seal like?

At 200k due to the previous Asian who did not know the flywheel was U/S, my syncros are shagged. What are yours like?

Have a look at the output flanges/shafts on the TF box too. Mine are now all wobbly

gearbox and transfer have been rebuilt, didn't do flywheel on bad advise. Also I like pulling it out so much
Looks like it will be the HD one, no one tell the wife there was a cheaper option :D
