It would be good for people to post what they want from a club so we can get it all together and started but I think you have summed it up for most of us. The nuts and bolts of how the club fits into the forum has yet to be nutted out but let me stress the club is from the forum, not the other way around. In no way will the club dictate to the forum. To think we could have a national club with a recognised national voice with all the input from what we now have and more growth to come. ORE rocks 8)

Also, since it will have to be national, there will be more people joining than if it was just a local club. That will equal easier access if there is a good image from the start.

I just choose which ones to listen to  Agree with the national focus, we need to do it right from the start as I am sure there will be some out there that would like us to fail. I know of some clubs that detest ORE, their loss. Nows the time to make a united stand and show that we can add value to the NZ4wding community.

How hard is it to run a poll to see how many of ORE members are all ready affiliated members of NZFWDA through the various clubs?

Is it worth trying the poll thing Mike/Albundy :?:

Find out just how many numbers there really are out there?

Those wanting to join an ORE club who aren't a existing club member
Those wanting to join who are existing club members (its relevant :? )
Those not wanting to join any club.

Need the last thing cos there is those that dont. Tim for example on ta other thread - can't see what why because i'm not allowed in there

Merc - CCVC in welly has over 250 (thats a shitload and would be very hard to topple !)

2173 members-that would mean if the trend continues on the poll possibly at least half the members of the nzfwda could be affiliated through this web site-Imagine that
As for club politics this web site doesnt even come close to the bullshit whinging that goes on in most clubs.

Agreed :!: Poeple on here have a moan or two, a little rant and rave now and then but no grudges held, no agendas to toe the line to and just enough informality so we can all get along. 8)

Ok poll ran for a few good days and there was a good response. Results are here -> http://www.offroadexpress.co.nz/modules.php?name=Surveys&op=results&pollID=4&mode=&order=0&thold=0

The results show there is support for the club. It also shows that the site will possibly loose 14 members

I would like to start making some progress on this. I will start making site modifications to accept site memberships and the club memberships soon and get the ball rolling.

WIFM Comes to mind. when thinking of NZ4WDA
Translation:- What Is In It For Me?

Having read now this thread fully the answer is:-
Nothing, Nough zero zip
Should I go On..... ???
Bugger I will anyway:-

The strength of this forum is it's openess it's ability to network like minded people with a passion for off roading.

Not directly knocking NZ4WDA at all here but just following the logic of why get involved with them or any one like that as a forum?

Think about it.......
......(yep that is long enough)
this forum has the ability to deliver better access, advice, better trips through better networking as we all do, and hell your own Vehicle Insurance cover has 3rd Party liability any way! without all the BS and politics!

ORE as it is now, is great! and it has a great future. Full credit to the guys who got this off the ground, and full credit to the long time supporters of this forum
ORE is great as it is.
If it an't broke don't fix it

Looking at the results of the recent poll - 4wd club members make up a big proportion of current posters

madaz608, you assume too much. You don't even know me, you aren't even married to me so how do you know that I bitch and moan? You sound like my wife!!!
You naughty man you!

Any way serious time:-
It is not I that is on test here. It is not my mood swings that are important here it is up to you to show the members of this forum that you can and will conduct affairs so the forum benefits, that is if you want the forum to join NZ4WDA. That is you wearing the Hat of PRO for NZ4WDA

From what I have read on this and other threads you have some work to do.

.
Lets make this very f'ing clear, THE FORUM WILL NOT BE JOINING NZ4WDA :!: I can speak for Mike on this as I was there also. When this club/assocation is formed it will be an offshoot from the forum. YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A MEMBER OF THE CLUB/ASSOC TO USE THE FORUMLets cut the crap and get on with it. In the last month this site has grown phenomenally with input from two of NZ's leading 4wd associations. To me this could represent one voice, that is one f'ing powerful lobby group of voters that no polly could ignore. Want to gaurantee a 4wdrivng future for my boys. 8)

Actually it doesnt make sense for the forum to join the nz4wda. A group of people off this site, who are activlely involved with this site and use this site to organise stuff are going to affilitate as an offshoot off this site. So actually the site isnt going to change at all. What the nz4wda and other organistionas should be doing is using the forums to reach the wider NZ population out there to inform, educate and hopefully unite us all. I noticed you asked what the nz4wda has done to beinifit yourself and you replied 0, zip, zilch well I have to say that is not true because indirectely they have affected you by insuring paper roads are not closed through winning an expensive court case against a council which tried to close a road. Now all potential road closures by council bodys have this result waved in their face! So Not only have they done something for you, but for all NZ 4wders. This is only one thing they have done, I'm sure there are plenty of other things on the list. At the end of the day they are just 4wders like us but fighting for access so we wont end up accessing our country only via mountain bikes or tramping boots!
