Toyota BJ74 F/S 1986

Post by hippy_ »

Due to a semi-permeate injury, I am having to sell my truck, cant drive a manual on long trips anymore. I am about to buy a VX, so this needs to go.

BJ74 13BT motor, long travel shocks, lifted about 2 inches, safari snorkel, diff breathers, 31X10.5 15's 80/20's. Still have good tread on them.

Still has 5 moths rego, wof and has about 2000ks of road users left. Done just over 233000 kms

Not selling the plate. Will be sold with STD bumpers front and rear. No spot lights. Not selling the stereo gear or scanner/aerial etc. I could be persuaded to sell with the front and rear bumpers I made, but as I made them I kinda want to keep them and use them on the VX if they fit.

It needs the odd thing fixed and the major is the frost plugs, they need replacing at the rear of the block. The motor needs to be taken out to fix them.

Has the odd black patch where I have done rust repairs. Comes with the odd dint and scratches from bush bashing.

I had the gearbox and transfer case rebuild with new bearings seals etc two years ago, spend $3500.

Its a good old Truck, just needs some love. I am happy to answer any questions.

Open to serious offers around $5000.

If you guys think the price is to high/low free feel to tell me what you think, as I have no idea what its worth in its current condition. I will not take offense at any opinions etc. I can get it fixed, but in my current condition and with another operation coming up soon, it may take me 6-8 weeks before I could finish the job.

I will be total honest and up front about the Truck, as I believe what goes around comes around. I know full well its not a mint Truck, but hey it was my baby and I did use it for 4WDing.

Over the last 18 months it has only been used to take the dogs for runs in the river bed.

If you any pictures, just ask.

Thanks for looking

Dont know yet. My guess is the ones at the back of the motor, but as the motor is going to be pulled out, I will replace them all.

I will be taking it down to a mates workshop next week, sitting it in the corner and when they have a spare minute or three, they will be taking the motor out and see what needs doing.

I will update this thread with pictures and news as it happens.
