Which Calipers?

Post by turoa »

Which calipers would be good for fitting on a hilux soild disk. I rang the wreckers about maxima calipers and they wanted $65  ... Each :-@ . So what would work well? I intend on buying 2 sets. 2 for normal braking and 2 for fiddle brakes. And how should I set up the levers? old hilux slaves?

Hi Turoa
I spoke to Andy Ward last week and he told me you can run fiddles through the same eyetem as your main brakes.
If you are running discs i suggest you run a pair of VH44 boosters to up the line pressure to the calipers.

Hey T are you going legal (certed  )??

If you are there might be conditions you'll have to meet to double plumb the caliper.... talk to the certifier :(
If you decide to do the double calipers (I did on the rover after talking to my certifier  ) use the clutch master off your lux 8) it'll run the single pot caliper good enough.... the booster Jtop is talking about is a good idea, I've been keeping an eye out for some at the right price 8) for the Rover (thanks Jtop :D )

Oh and see if you can talk the wreaker down I paid $40 for the pair on my last disk conversion  another option is the Galant I think they are pretty much the same caliper
