the real truth about winches

Post by mercutio »

Optimists mount winch in the front
front of car is pointing where you want to go, correct ?

Pessemists mount winch at the rear
if i get stuck it will be better to go backwards same way ?

Realists do not have a winch. Tree is always a bit to far anyway.
my 4wd is not a truck

What do we call those with a hand winch....covering all bases. I am the optimist with the hand winch for back-up.

I'm none of the above as my winch is sitting in a box waiting to be fitted when I finally get my arse into gear and finish the new toy.

After market front and rear bumper with a welded box section in the middle and a lock pin. This way u can mount the winch on a removable mounting plate with the corrosponding box section and fit it to the front or rear and pin it in place with a power plug on both ends, works like a charm.
