wheel cylinder question

Post by tangy »

Hey all. One drum was off my truck and i pumped the breaks, causing i think one cylinder to pop the piston out. I have been told that this inst a major and u can just simply put it back together and use it, the cylinder is new  ... any advice would be appreciated. Cheers.

should be fine. Put it back together, give the brakes a bleed up and you'll be back in the mud in no time

The advice is correct, crack the bleed nipple at the back of the wh/cyl; give the piston and cup a clean, dip cup and piston in brake fluid ( needs to be assembled wet ) and put back together. Assemble brake shoes, fit drums, adjust and bleed brakes starting at the cyl; furthest from the master cyl;.

YOUR NOT THE FIRST AND WON'T BE THE LAST,
