What do ya have against hacksaws???!!!
but serious like, I used a grinder with a 1mm cutting disc for 97% of the cutting, the hacksaw was for where the seat mount cross member meats the trans tunnel

Hey Dace, did you find out if you can use that diesel filter and primer for petrol? I use a commodore inline pump but have to suck fuel through to prime it as they are useless at sucking! So if the primer would work with petrol ita a great idea

S3 Rover truck cab, injected 186, Sals rear,Toyota P/steer, Safari disc brakes front, R/Rover D/brakes rear, 9500 winch, twin optima batts, roll bar, Disco seats, 33" JTs, scene lamps, onboard air, Front ARB locker.

I haven't yet but the remote housing we sell at work uses a diesel type filter and they can be used for petrol as well...
it all depend also wether when the engine is fitted, there is still room for the std filter in the std location, if not, I won't bother

UPDATE!!!!
Well , its been a while, trying to figure out how to fabricate a new trans cross member, that lifts the trans 50mm higher, and minimize drop below the chassis rails
well, its now all most ready, have welded most the crossmember to final condition, just lettin the welder and work cool down then will finish it off
pics coming very soon

The longest mine has ever been off the road was 3 weeks, and that was when I fitted the safari front end.

Re: Dace-lux gettin revamped
If you haven't done it already, avoid using the factory oil pressure switch thing for the fuel pump. The oil pressure switch is a known problem in them, and its just more wiring than is really needed. of course that's just my opinion.
Looking good though.

Re: Dace-lux gettin revamped
Finally, some more progress
front susp and Diff was reassembled a while ago so truck could be moved, and have spent last month gettin my new shed setup and lighting sorted. But now that is done, work progresses!!!
Today, removed the front diff again, with tyres still attached, didn't make it as easy as I would have thought
have marked the firewall where it needs to be "adjusted" to clear inlet

Then pulled the engine out

removed the engine mount I had tacked up in the engine bay and welded them up proper

and that was it for today
next step, drop the trans out and remove crossmember for clean up and take to certifier for his ok.
then, finish the trans-tunnel welding and make patches to cover the holes (who would have thought that a VN commy tunnel wouldn't bolt into a LN106
)
and clean up the engine bay, remove unneeded brackets and relocate brake line above body seam.
more to come soon

More progress....
Taken the engine mounts and trans crossmember to cert guy for his ok, which I got
have cut, "adjusted" and rewelded firewall for clearance to throttlebody, and modified the passanger side heater pipe for same reason, has come out better than expected, should have heaps of clearance.
have done some more trimming in the transtunnel and now just need to start making some panel patches to fill the gaps
have removed both the front springs and hangers and am preping to cut of the existing front mounts in anticipation of movin em 50mm lower for rear to front conversion
