Wanted to swap Landcruiser 5speed petrol box for diesel box

Post by xorph »

I have a late 80s H55F 5 speed box with the coarse spline input shaft, including transfer case to suit the following engines: F, 2F, 3F, H, 2H, 12HT. Apparently out of a 70 series.
I need a gearbox from a mid-late 80's onward 70 series with a 3B, 13BT or 1HZ motor.

The only difference is the spline count and length of the input shaft, which is the bain of my life at the mo.

So, if youre thinking about swaping in a petrol or a 6 cyl diesel to your 70 series this is a good oportunity to swap for both of us!

Failing that im looking for just a fine spline input shaft and ill swap it for mine.

Will also consider buying a fine spline box if anyone has one.

Cheers,
Matt

i,ve got a fine spline diesel 4 speed box you can have if you want it .But you cant just swap front input shafts over .They have different gear clusters inside. You could swap over all the insides and it would work but getting the bearings off is an arse off a job.

gday, Im in taupo.
yeah i had a feeling the clusters would be different, but was hoping the input shaft gear ratio would be the same.
