Lights pulse dim at idle

Post by sj50 »

Hi all,

I just failed a wof because my lights pulse dim when ideling, im wondering how i can fix this ? I have also noticed the battery light flickering at idle some of the time, even though the idle is just under 1k. The vehicle is a sj413 suzuki.

Thanks

alternator is dropping off line ,get it checked or clean it out,
the lights go dim cause the voltage is dropping down. or wind the idle up so it does not go dim and get a warrant from the over zealous garage that failed ya,.

cheers

Yup, sounds like an alternator problem. What condition is the battery in? Get a hose and clean the alternator out, may also be that the integrated voltage regulator is dying.
