Pajero Height Control

Post by Toymota2 »

Hi,

Just picked up my 92 SWB V6 Pajero today with factory height control. When I set it on the high setting it does not seem to stay up for long unless the truck is turned off. Is this normal? I am starting to think that the height control is if you bottom out on something that it is just a temporary lift to help get you over it.

Also if i got replace the springs with 50mm lift ones does this mean the height control will no longer do anything?

Thanks.

Hi Yah

A mate has the same truck and from memory if you select high suspention and exceed a certain speed it lowers itself down...
Or when you are in High Range......something like that.

Ok cool, i thought that may be the case. Thanks for that.

Has anyone swapped rear springs and wound up torsion bars on these height adjustable models? I dont see how to wind up the torsion bars as the have the self adjusting device part on them which i am guessing would need to be removed?

Thanks.

50km/hr

everything works as normal re lifting it tho. pajero adjusters for torsions are ontop between the body and chassis kind of.. pain in the but to do. be warned, if you adjust them right up, and then off road decide to push the lift button, you will end up on the bump stops.

rear springs- just swap out as normal.

Ooooo yeah now that i have wound the front up to match the back when i push the "up" button the front only comes up a little bit compared to the back. I have not checked the front bump stop clearance. If it is hitting would i get away with giving it a small trim/cut in half? :D

If someone giving you a warrant notices the cut down bump stops you will be failed.
