Lada over haul with Diesel implant

Post by Nivapulledout »

Hello all,
I have been doing a build thread on Difflock as I find it cumbersome to post pics in threads here. as I have already done a thread I will just post the link for those that are interested.
Sorry about just using a link but have been working 7am to 10pm on this and my 30 min internet time at night just does not cut writing up two threads.

http://forum.difflock.com/viewtopic.php ... 8&start=30

jobs include.

-1.9 td implant
-suspention lift
-converting a rear steel diff to replace the front ali one
-LSD install front and rear
-Side sill replace
-Rear disk brake conversion
-Wheel arch trim.

hey bro. Would you like some flexi flare? I have two lengths sitting here from the old front hilux guards that you can have.

Edit:

I've always thought that the tolerances for the adaptor plate would have to be pretty damn good to avoid loading the bearings with unnecessary stress?

Good shit! Looking real good, as much as I dont like to admit It I think the Nivas are an Ideal length, width height vehicle for offroad.

X2...and it is good to see something different from a Nissan or Toyota being built into a very capable truck. I know the pressure you are under to get as much done with the time that you are home as I work off shore 28 on 28 off. your progress puts many of us to shame  . Keep up the good work :D

Hay guys,
cheers it deffinatly is getting there. but will not get it ready for certing this time and will have to wait untill I am back in Dec to get finished. I cant wait to take it out when it is finished and see how she goes.
She was bloody good offroad before these mods so should be a killer now.
I am hooked on the niva, even with the petrol in it it was a great car, and now there are not many around they are getting quite unique and get a few questions asking what it is. 8)

hay Nathan I already have flexi flares waiting to go on. but cheers for the offer. I am still not sure if I will put them on yet will do the arch cut and see how it looks. The plate should be fine as once you slide it onto the spigot and hard up against the block there is not any up or down free play so should be spot on, I got the method off a guy who did a lexus V8 and he reported no problems.

I had thought about it. possibly for a comp truck and running hilux axles. thing would fly. there have been a couple build overseas with twin Yamaha R1 engines and one with a ferrari engine in it.
