Easter Trip

Well thats the plan. I understand its a very low key trip (mates got a 2009 Jeep Wrangler (very shiny with factory tyres)? and a couple others with very standard trucks. So more just a chance to get away,

Planning on spending friday night in vacinity of cold water creek, then up and around and sat night around the Achron Cob cottage on the banks of the clarance or just crack on and get home, see how we feel.

So questions

anyone who has done this how is it? good places to go have a look at? have a play? any problem areas? or good side trips?

is there a gas station in St Arnuad? was up there about 7 years ago and seem to remember one being there????

i think thats it but any info about this area would be great

Cheers in advance

P.S will post photos after the trip

I went through Rainbow about 3 years ago, I think they close the route to the public around easter so you might want to confirm your timing with DoC, dont really think its the sort of place for a play in your vehicles as its private and or DoC land and its only open for you to drive through? I drove through without any other vehicles and it would be a pain in the arse to have to follow someone else through the dust for several hours each way? There was gas at St Arnud and it was open 7 days.
