80 series VX FOR SALE

Post by badnuz »

well. im over the 80.
had the auto rebuilt-all good. just had brakes fully rebuilt (genuine everything parts)-all good. will have new wof this week-all good. has rego till Dec this year-all good.
had motor fully rebuilt-not so good. appx 8000km (end of last year)its blowing blue smoke and using oil rather fast...... not sure why, and to be honest dont care. its possibly the turbo, possibly not........

i have spent more $$$ than i care to think about, and it has have over $6g worth of ARB accessories/upgrades

extras include:

OME sport suspension
Safari Snorkel
ARB winch bar and sidesteps
GME prs
storage drawers in rear
cargo barrier
5x 16x8 rims with 2/3rd worn 285/75/16 BFG muds (old style)
3 inch full mandrel bent exhaust
hi power headlight bulbs
rebuilt starter and alternator
now fully tinted
rhino roof bars

lots other things too,

auto was over 3g, engine close to 10g.

have some receipts

as is where is ( motor possibly an issue hence low price)

$14000ono

will take cash cash cash or cash. or direct credit.

dont want swaps/trades etc unless you have a skyline GTR 1990. wont split or separate either

its a great set up touring cruiser (apart from aforementioned motor) and i have thrown lots of cash into it.

i don't want peoples opinions as to why its using oil, i have asked many already and everyone has a different theory.

this is a FARKIN tidy 80, if ya could sort the oil issue, it would be a Bargin, as Badnuz has already done rings, bearings in the engine, all the suspension is near new in it, the 3' exh is noy even 6 months old, not to mention the professionally rebuilt Auto.

actually, how much did ya want for it.... :?:

update:

it seems to have stopped blowing blue smoke with the introduction of the catch can for the breather..... :) will have to see how much oil gets blown into it, but so far its very minimal...

Not sure what oil mine had last service, but I suspect this is the main cause of the smoke. Put 250ml of Moreys Oil Stabiliser in, and very little smoke now.

Will try Caltex next service.

Very interesting. my 1kz surf was blowing a little blue smoke on occassion and I changed from Valvoline oil to Gulf Western and know it no longer smokes at all.

Always though Valvoline was a good reputable brand of oil

I allways used Mobil Delvac MX in my Safari's and they ran sweet, Its also the same oil as Cat diesel/Fleet oil that is suitable in Petrols and multi-use fleet situations,

Delvac1 is even better as its the Diesel version of Mobil1 and is a very good quality oil, I also used this in my MX bikes and racing quads for years, Its apprently a better quality oil than the Mobil1 petrol oil as we know it :) but shite its expensive :(

delvac mx is what i use and recommend to anyone. the delvac 1 is awesum oil but its too thin for the recommended clearances of the VX cruisers.
