Post by badnuz »

the Welly coastguard trip last year was a great event, lets get out there again and support en mass!!

4 Wheel Drive Family Day Out
Hutt Valley to Wairarapa- Coastal Route

Support the Wellington Volunteer Coastguard and travel the historic route from Eastbourne to Ocean Beach, via the old coastal route.

Tell all your friends and colleagues. Wonderful views and interesting scenery, with some challenging spots to keep the drive interesting. (But don’t worry there will be someone there to make sure you get out safely!)

Entries limited to 100 vehicles so don’t delay!!!!

Date: Sunday 11 April 2010
Meet: Car park, Burdens Gate at the end of Muritai Road, Eastbourne entrance at 9.30am
Cost: $50 per vehicle
Depart: Approx 10am following briefing
Registration is available on the day or before.
Bring your own lunch and drinks.

There is the opportunity to purchase $10 raffle tickets for A Trip for Two on “Spirit of Wellington” when you register, otherwise there will be tickets available on the day.

Enquiries please contact either Trevor Hughes 021 0595548, 04 9707821 fourbyfour@paradise.net.nz Or Brigid Wilson 027 2288637

Remember to bring your smile as you and your vehicle may be appearing in a magazine article.

There will be spot prizes

All proceeds go to Wellington Volunteer Coastguard

The trip is one way. Only the organisers will be heading back that way and a few select others by invite only.

Don't want the return trip to become an issue, but also don't want to have the whole trip be a two way affair either. I realise that it is quicker for some people to go all the way to Ocean Beach and then come back to Wainui. But I am also aware that we are on private land and I don't want to abuse the privilege of having vehicles treking all over their land, and I would like to be asked back again! Also there is another 4WD club that will be playing there when we are.

Bit of a dilemma.

maaate, I only used $18 worth of fuel last year, from the BP at Upper #### to the Mobil on the Petone foreshore

I wont be going, if we can't do the return trip, as I'm already over that way that weekend :(
