Thanks all. Some very interesting comments and all are relevant which rules.

I'll have ducting which will ensure the air pulled through is cold... the ducting will be fitted once roll bar and deck are in place.

I just adjusted my steering box using instructions provided in the other thread. Awesome

This is correct, the scoop on my truck really only works at motorway speeds the rest of the time the fans are sufficient. The polycarbonate will be made removable for when its in the bush, I just ran out of time when putting it together.

Could someone PM my flyingbricks cell number please, or if you read this Nathan could you please give me my money back or actually send the mount.

I'd rather sort one out down here if I have to wait another 5 months for yours to show up and I've been patient enough already

But the light is at the end of the tunnel now for a one of a kind asss kicker  F*&k the anal w#nkers that say you cant mix this with that. will definably keep and eye open on this thread from now on.

pm'd you taz.

Thanks craig! ya comments are much appreciated!

monaro:  that ####### sucks!!! :) but it wasn't done to be unique or anything- was just the best way i could see to achieve a few things.

Hayden: updates are hard ATM because i have no net connection at home (or work) after moving. I'm also farking poor after paying for everything associated with changing residence. :( :(. Have had one weekend at home out of 4 which has sucked BALLS.

The good news is that ive moved into a farking cool place (imo) with a decent garage so I now have room to move. Cant remember what i've said up there but heres a brief update of where the truck is right now:

-body is sitting flat and level- front mounts/x member/bash bar are currently being bent up out of 6mm thick steel. tomorrow i need to go take a look at some test sections to make sure they can get the angles needed with press brake.

-Wheels are on. 8)

-sourced new factory front guards and the grille i wanted- get stuff after easter.

-radiator is mounted and all brackets are completed for now.

-sorted out what im doing for rear tray (modifying vvega's old tray).. need to pick all that shit up with the work truck sometime.

- The only factory wiring is now the engine/ignition system. Everything else is being done completely from scratch with new relays and wiring. 12 relays in total  but it means everything will end up far far neater and more reliable IMO. I got sick and tired of the tangled mess of factory wires which were far too long in every direction and I also had a fault with the indicators which I couldn't work out. It means that when its finished I can be 100% happy with it and not nook at the wires wishing i'd done something different.
That'll be finished when the current financial crisis is over and I have the spare cash to buy the relays etc.

-Oh yeah. We towed it to the new place. Decided driving it under its own steam was a little TOOO dodgey since it has no front guards or working lights. Mate put his trailer light bar on the back and we blead the brakes in like 5 minutes and it was all mint. Pretty happy that A, the body didn't slide off, B, the brakes worked and C the steering worked and didn't lock up or anything stupid (it was adjusted to remove slop in the box)

-Planned out gauge placement and interior shit. Made templates etc and making brackets at the moment.

-got steel for trans tunnel from a very unlikely source for virtually free. Still to work out of its suitable because of its pre-formed shape, thickness and material quality but will post pics when trimmed and bent to shape.

anyway... im sure this is a little more that i cant remember... here are some pics from around 2 weeks ago.

Hi all.

Got my new front bash bar/bumper/body mount piece bent up. It came out bloody bloody nice. Ended up getting it made out of two pieces of 5mm plate which were each bent up and then overlapped at the front edge before being welded together. So the front is 10mm and the top and bottoms 5mm thick. Strong as ####.

So now I have room and strength to mount some shackle tabs and rated tow hooks.

Approach angle is farking fantastic and wont ever be a limiting factor.

Cant wait to get the thing out there !!!!

took it for a drive around the property last weekend.

Welder is booked to come to my place to do mounts NEXT WEEKEND.

I wish i had a tube bender.. blaaaardy sold it.

Who wants to buy my plates. YUUUK.... i need money

Forgot to take more pics. Will take some more when back home and will upload when possible. Dont have net access there yet.

Earthing cables.

Selling my glass guards too. $300 for the pair which would be awesome used as screw on flares as opposed to full guards. I paid $500 for the pair.

Am going with a slightly different (for a hilux) approach.

But it looks so cool without front guards and i need side bars anyways... just gonna go with, basically, jeep style flat fenders.

Dont care if anyone else here does not like the idea

I wondered if you were thinking Jeep style flat fenders, One of the Wrangler guys on here has done it and it looks very good aswell as being very practical.

Ill put some side bars on mine soonish but ill leave the Lux guards on,I'm not as radical as you

Its looking good anyway so whats left before you get it on the road.? Are you keeping the standard suspention set-up for now and whats next on the list to tick off.?

Hi Nathan, the project looks like you're getting there. You must be hanging out to finish.

Are you ready to send me those indicator lights etc from the patrol? You will still have my details in your PMs.
