you seem to be talking about the ozzy 4wd action mag

www.4x4action.co.nz

That has been a dead Link and still is Skid, evidently it comes under the heading of what happens when you only think you own something without paying for it.

I guess if you want this website - all one would have to do is "pay" for it !

..... or maybe it has been paid for but not reactivated, thats probably it !

Readers rigs have always been an integral part of the mag and this should continue. I'll talk to John about it. Great to have input from the readers for sure.

Thanks heaps.

Don't these distributors send stuff out on set days, usually subscribers first then into the shops maybe.

Ask for a refund ! Get a refund ! You will still get 4 issues anyway for free 'cause you paid for them, if you can't get a refund -

Get A Perm ! - (not applicable to Skid) - Grow your Skis then you will qualify.

I agree Tony, our home grown 4x4 mags should be encouraged, and supported, regardless of rumors and 2nd hand stories.

I buy it regularly and enjoy the NZ content. Good luck with it guys and keep it happening.

Well I just got off the phone from John Reid
About a 15 minute discussion on the magazine, it all sounds very hopeful. As he says' this next issue is an interim one ansd the layout and content probably wont be the final, but it is a magazine. He is going to contact all the clubs so he can be put on the club email magazine lists so they can see what is happening around the countryside, and maybe th4rn they can get in touch with the writers of the articles in them for more stories.

If you are reading this John, many thanks for the phone call

I've been following this saga for a while and as a reader there are some questions I'd like to ask. :?:
1. Will the subscribers be creditted for the two missing issues (Feb and Mar).
2. Will Bobbie be part of the new magazine, and if not why?
3. Is the previous company going into liquidation?
4. If so, will that leave Bobbie out of pocket?
5. Have you got enough cash to keep the magazine going in the long term since it looks like you've failed once since you had to sell out to new owners?

I'll have a go.

1. Will the subscribers be creditted for the two missing issues (Feb and Mar). Yes

2. Will Bobbie be part of the new magazine, and if not why? No. The mag has a new owner and Bobbie resigned from editor

3. Is the previous company going into liquidation? God I hope not. I've lost enough money already.

4. If so, will that leave Bobbie out of pocket? Can't answer that one. Best you come see me!

5. Have you got enough cash to keep the magazine going in the long term since it looks like you've failed once since you had to sell out to new owners? I think your a bit confused here. I'm a shareholder in the company that originally bought the magazine from Bobbie 2 years ago. Bobbie is also a shareholder and was a director of this company that bought the magazine. Does that make more sense. I have no shareholding in the magazine anymore. I have 100% faith in the new owners making the best of this magazine.

I'll be at the Thames event taking some pics and talking to people. Feel free to ask me in person if you want to.

Business's all over the country have been hit hard by the recession and the financial strain has affected them all in different ways.

If the mag lives to fight another then great!!!!!!!

Neither do I.
Recession is an excuse for not get off ones butt and face reality.

I am pulling the plug on this Forum.
I do not believe that Forums should be used to tout for or promote business, nor should they be used to impart self gratification in relation to any 'he said, she said' drama that will eventually unfold here.

Too many people are hurting over this subject debacle already.
Business amongst friends is obviously dirty these days, and not to be entered into lightly.

Friendships are lost. Some will face an even greater truth than will ever come out here.

This is not the place to make out that some are more squeaky clean than others, nor should it be a public hanging place.

For what its worth I have read this magazine - no comment !

I know this is my opinion, I am ok with it, have a think before it all goes too far.

Thankyou for you time,

Regards

I have been talking to John Reid as well and due to what he is trying to do with the magazine I am supporting it by becoming a columnist. I think it is really simple, if you like the magazine buy it, if you don't then don't by it. If you are concerned about it's financial security then pay more for it and get it from the local bookstore. If you want it cheaper then subscribe.

If you want something like 4x4 Action then just buy it, read it and tell your mates.

And if you want to see what I'm doing with my new truck then I guess you'll find there won't be any photo's posted on the net anymore so you know where to go if interested. But hey i guess not many of you are interested in 600hp winch challenge / offroad racing trucks are you!!!!!!!

Were/are there photos on the net about it? and you would be right NOBODY is interested in them and they should start theie own magazine if they want to publish articles and/or photos about them
Not many 4 wheelers in NZ compete so the magazine should only be about non competition type events such as fund raisers etc. Hang about somebody told me that I am farly competitive, not that you would think so looking at my results this season, So better scratch the comment about competitions
