any of you guys do trialing
if so what classes are there, are most trucks used hybrids? anywhere i can read up on trialing nz, i would like to get into trialing next year but want to do a bit of research over the next few months.
How deep are ya pockets??
I do interclub trialling, not the national stuff. Might pay to get involved with you local club ones first and see what performs and what doesnt.
Our local series we have 3 classes
A Class - Road Legal vehicles (anything goes as long as it was fitted from factory
B Class - must have open diffs, no traction aids (the class I run in)
C Class - anything you want, difflocks, fiddle brakes, 4 wheel steer
If you want the rules and regs for the nationals, either order them here
http://www.nzfwda.org.nz/competition.html
or ask someone like "Furgus" on here who codrives in the nationals. Next series doesnt start till Labour weekend I think

I dont think so. Classes seem to vary between clubs. This is just a basic format for our fun trials. Used to be B class was 4 cyl and C was 6/8 Cyl then D was open class.
And no to fiddle brakes in B class (considered a traction aid) I find it more fun where its all down to driver skill rather than "he who has the most toys" sort of vehicles

The basic classes are:
A class : 4 cyl standard body & suspension
B class : 5 cyl & over standard body & suspension
C class : 4 cyl any mods you want - lockers, coiled, fiddle brakes etc
D class : 5 cyl & over any mods you want - lockers, coiled, fiddle brakes etc
E class : 4 cyl standard body suspension, mods to 1 axle only, fiddle brakes to one axle only
F class : 5 cyl & over standard body, suspension mods to 1 axle only, fiddle brakes to one axle only

If at first you don't succeed .... Get a bigger hammer!!

So does that mean I cant run longer shackles in the rear axle if I enter into F class?
down south i used to be in greater modified class.
standard, means that. 32" max not simex swampers etc..
modified, small lift. up to 33" simex etc
greater modified, one traction aid. lift, up to 33" tyres
super modded. up to 35" traction aids galore etc.
open, anthing goes..
but thats definitly just a southern thing
