TRIP REPORT
TRAVEL DAY
Up at 4.30 am got the kids up at 5am left at 6 am heading for Reefton.
Arrived at Reefton about 9 am had a bite to eat while waiting for two nana boys ( Jerry and Graham )to turn up had a look around saw a miners hut with real hillbillys in it .
The nana boys arrived about 10 am and we proceded to follow PR up to the Waipuna tunnels and Neopolens hill.
The tunnels were great part from the stakes sticking up which i happen to drive over all the time.
Neopolens hill was piss easy i thought it was ment to be a hard drive my nana could drive it ( thats my kind of hill ).
We headed back to Reefton for gas then to Westport.
We got to Westport about 2 pm checken into our accomadation done some shopping and back to the cabin blah blah.

DAY ONE

day one started about 8 am we meet up with Nuts , Hillfilly.
The frist stop was the carters beach run around the cliffs to the cave were we saw old fossils ( and it wasnt Jerry  :P ).
As you all can see by the photos there were big rocks too and yes PR found them heaps of fun and stuffed something in his truck (cv   ).
Then went to the heads where it was a orsome view ( free camping too ).
Then to some other beach but cant think of the name  .
Then we headed to four mile road where PR gave up   he had to go back and fix his truck    and we continued to have heaps of fun with out him but word of warning if you have a big sunroof watch for the thistles as Taz and myself got heaps stuck in our backs and sat on a few ouch
the track took us to a river and i got wedged on a small log (thats what i told PR ) staddled a few rocks and then we came to swamp it was fun but stunk and i had to use my brand new winch for the frist time bugger (didnt want to use it ).
Then went back to Nuts place had a orsome feed and chat gave PR heaps of stick     (my high light) i out drove PR in the poojaroo

DAY TWO

Well day two stared with great prospects of all trucks making it to the top of Mount Fredrick and though the day but we were wrong PR broke down again 200 meters into the track blowing both cv's and bending both trailing arms and rear shocks   .
This was a nice easy drive NOT That dame Nuts put us up some lovely rock faces and had a look at abandond mines the burning mountain the easyest way to explain the secound day was my dance and Jerry has the video and I will kill him if he posts it   as to i done it ha ha ha.
Nuts was great at showing me the way to go Thank You heaps ( sorry about the swearing when I found out we had to go down the same way ) and My THIRED child ( JERRY ) helping me drive down and showing me a small trick.
We headed back to Nuts and PR fixing his truck again    Nuts has renicked named PR as PR (probably repairing    )

DAY THREE

Started off a wet and gloomy day, as we headed out to Tailings with all trucks going again I wounded how long it would be till PR broke again and pushed his truck over the edge of the track   The tack started with a bit of a drive on a shingle track where we came to a car park aera before the real track  We started with a Big muddy and rocky down hill where I got hooked up both in the front and rear at the same time   then we went over a small stream with big rocks and then up a small climb to the mother of all climbs   ( I was SHITTING myself ) PR turned up (truck still going) and became my winch bitch as he should be) for this climb. I was done Ok until my battery started to run out of steam and my winch bound up :x :( so Graeme back up and draged my arse over the top    I caccyed on down the track for about 300 metres when I lost drive and it turns out i cooked my clutch
so PR (yes PR was still going :x) had to tow me through the rest of the track. This was a expereance in it self he stared off nice and easy then he lost his cool with a couple of guys that walked in and would not listen to him causing 2 tires to pop off there beads and that was the begging of a whole new nightmear for me its not nice being towed quickly though tracks with big drops on one side ruts on the other and rivers my thoughts of PR were not nice i will not be able to say as a monerator will delete all of my report Thank god for Taz he had to sit in my drivers seat to steer as i was to terrifed to do it any more. PR snaped his already bent panhard on the way out and in some places had to get Graeme (Blackdeath) to hook on the front  ( being towed by 2 powerful safaris was intersting     ) and at one point Graeme did not see a washed out culvet and got airborne sending Jerry and himself into the roof of his truck and PR slamed his breaks on and I slamed into the back of PR (payback)

Wait till my cromemoly CVs arrive  and I will be strengthing my trailing arms and putting on a bigger turbo and bigger tyres  so the weak part will be the hobs but they are quick and easy to change on the side of the track

Reading your trip report bubbles had me smiling remembering
a few of the classic moments over the weekend ....... :D

Just a pity I missed your wee dance , :( might have to get Jerry to email the vid to me.
Thank goodness I didn't demonstrate the belly dancing or I would be leaving the country
You and your camera appeared nearly everywhere Jerry

Was great to meet up and hit the tracks together , 8) 8)
I can still see your face bubbles when you realised we had to go back down Mt Fred
probably much the same as mine sometimes when I realise where I was supposed to go
or when I've taken the wrong angle

If you make it down this way again Graham you may have to padlock that horn of yours or it may go missing

Was devastated that I wasn't well enough to be your winch bitch through tailings Simon, but will always remember when that bar flew off up Mt Fred and could see thoughts of last year in your smile
and then you showed those boys how to plow the paki

I think I'll stick with my terrano PR, I don't have enough replacement cv's or colourful language

And biggles, I have yet to find out why you got a name change,
can't see a thing wrong with your hat :D :D :D

Thanks for putting up with me over the weekend guys and girls,
had a blast as always and looking forward to catching up and possibly hitting the track together again next year or sooner.

Thanks to my great teacher (Nuts) who is soooooooo patient with me :D :D
I am getting better, I think   .
I owe you heaps

Thanks also to your excellent winch bitch Stevie, we will have you and your VX out there yet    :D :D
