The next day we headed off to make a new track. Jafa decided to try and flop it at the start of his new track, but saved it, just :head
2s had walked ahead and came back to tell us of a 30 foot waterfall 100m further down and no way around, so it was out of there and off to another start point, that didn't work either, early lunch and down to another start point. No good there, so it was time to tackle the famed Hells Bells which hadn't been driven or attempted in the last 10-15 years or more.
Trucks had to be fully self recoverable, so the 3 became 2 and we drove to the start........

Jafa looking at the task ahead.....

Turoa is actually standing in the first hole, but its hard to see coz of the overgrowth......

Its a bit easier to see here as as trys to climb out of the hole.....

First job was to try and fill in the massive holes......

So that Jafa could have a go at driving it.....

After a few attempts at driving, it was time to break out the winch.....

Heres a few shots of the track ahead, Jamie did a mammoth effort at track clearing with the machete......

So after Jafa had winched himself up the first hole, it was Turoas turn......

They were able to drive for a little bit up the track, with a bit of effort, until the next winch point came.
This shot has Cowboy standing in a hole looking up at Jafa asking what his plan is now.....

Never fear boys, we can skirt round it easily enough. It required three winches in a row but was achieved......

After this point, Jafa managed to drive to the top, so we watched Turoa give it a go, until he had a small battery problem.....

And here is the photographic evidence of the culprit who never bolted the battery back in properly :head

After this small problem, we watched and were impressed as Turoa continued on and drove it to the top.
From here we trundled down to Hebden Cres Climb, but had to stop and wait for Turoa who was taking ages and we could hear him struggling. It turns out he was in 2wd due to another small problem.........

James truck had rejoined the group and Sig caught up with us for the attempt at Hebden......

Bloody awesome weekend, we found a track halfway up Hells Bells that could be worth a look and then theres the other track we are not allowed to mention, that needs conquering. Theres plenty more to be done and lots of scope for new tracks.
Big ups to the boys who put in all the effort on Hells Bells,
