Theres a guy on Trademe selling hook brackets that you may be able to use? I've always had cruisers so I don't know much about how hiluxs mount their hooks?

Niblik, the 40 chassis's are a poor design at the tow mount on the rear chassis cross member. They crack/break when towing or snatching and require extra attention.

The rear chassis crossmember has been completely removed and will be "upgraded" when replaced.

as h2o just posted prior, the rear bar from my chassis is gone and will be replaced with a very substantial item! this'll give the tow hook a challenge, thinking about 5mm maybe a bit more, with a bit of angular bracing to.. decided on this as the standard bar, as you stated jtop, was cracked and horseshit...

go the mods!

as for the thread, will put one on when the time comes...
