Thermal Thunder Winch Challenge - Hanmer

Post by muddy »

Anyone know the dates for this years event? I entered 2 years ago and enjoyed the tracks - just thought they were a bit short, but I gather there's been quite a bit of work done since then, so keen to have another go...

Any other details available yet?

The Mainland Winch Challenges website seems to be down....

I know it's on for sure, just not sure on dates. Much around the same time I think. I'll ask around.

Hopefully itll be better than last year, alot of people were dissapointed last year but everyone loved it the year before.

Just like ski fields have snow machines, We'll have our mud making machine on the job  8) 95% sure date has been set for Queens birthday weekend on the 12-13th of November. Myself, Hiriklux and Frank have taken on the lease up there and are turning it into an offroad motorsport venue called 'Pucker Park' (once you've driven some of the track you'll see where the "Pucker" comes from  ) we are going to make sure its a place you want to come back to. We are developing some new tracks that will give your winch a good workout :? So make sure you all enter this year cause its going to go off

Always on the lookout for sponsors Jas  Both for the park and also for different events. Had our first Motocross there yesterday and got some good feedback. Couple of extra jumps to put in for the bikes and quads. Hoping to get a couple of 4x4 events up there this year, Thermal thunder being one of them. Also hoping to organize a mid-winter mudplug there as well. Love to see your open top 40 up there for that  Keeping an eye out for some decent sized rocks to chuck in a pile too

Only hassle is getting said big rocks from Lyttelton to Hanmer  Don't think my trailer would do it lol. Should be able to find some pretty close though. Have got another two motocross events coming up so once they are out of the way we can get into creating some real tracks

As mentioned Marshalls are still required, the more the merrier. A good lunch will be supplied to anyone willing to help out on the day. Give Rick a ring on 3651909 to confirm your interest

Cheers
