It's a little rougher it looks and than what I was expecting but thats what ya get with things when you buy them without looking at them first. All in all I'm pretty happy with the truck.
The first issue that needed sorting was an intermittent fault loosing spark. I thought I had fixed this a couple of times but all of the things I did turned out to be coincidence seems the fault was intermittent! Finally on the weekend I think a couple of mates and I tracked it down. There are a few fuses in the engine bay that could really do with being in the cab somewhere and over time they had corroded quite a bit and got filled with shit.
as seen in the pic below

previous testing showed these fuses to have good continuity and 12 volts with the two we test bits on top of fuse however one that happened to power the ecu only showed about 4 volts on the ecu side. We gave the contacts a bit of a sand and sure enough 12 volts to the ecu and away it went. This time we measured something wrong and fixed it and the truck went so fingers crossed this was the issue. Has started every time since!
Took the truck for a spin yesterday and am pretty pleased with how it went. there are a few issues I want to look at fixing. the first is the fact that the front spring shackles often hit the chassis....

Why would this happen? just shackles too short? Pretty sure they are just factory ones.
Next, it has a front bowl sump on it which is quite close to the front diff so will have to do some flex testing and monitor this. I think it will probably be ok though

front tires rub when turning right (left hand side seems to have way more room which is weird... but I can put up with that for a bit
rear diff has a bit of a wine noticeable on the road but until I get closer till cert time I will just see how it goes. I'm assuming it has a couple of teeth off the pinion but changed the oil and nothing came out. Could be something else but sounds like my old truck did when this happened.
more to come.....
