a) first, open the engine bay and to isolate the fuel, switch valve to the top right of where ya find the fuses.
b) then unbolt injector housing and isolate fuel there too.. (using a wind in screw type set up on back of pump.)
c) dismantle front of pump from motor.
d) then remove valve with small screwdriver.. you'll see it in behind pumps fittings.
e) then throw the whole lot in the boot and push into the scrapyard and buy a new vehicle!!!
DISCLAIMER.. all of the above is horseshit, except e!!

Thats a good answer nibs
but personally i would get it looked at by the experts there not the sort of things you want to play with if you dont no what your doing.

Toyota Landcruiser FJ40, front and rear lockers, 35" simex.
Toyota FJ45 build in progress.
Tires are like boobs, they always look big until you have played with them for a while, then you just want a bigger set.

You need to get the injector pump off the engine and serviced by a diesel pump shop(thats if its leaking diesel)if its leaking engine oil then may only need the o-ring round the pump replaced.
well cost abit to get pump overhauled, ring diesel pump shops first.

Re: anyone in CHCH area know how to replace injector pumps seal
on vehicle they can probley only replace a few seals(by no means all them)by taking it off they can rekit the hole pump.
$300 is pretty cheap if they can fix the leak
taking the pump off and refitting may cost close to $300 with out doing anythig to it.depends how hard it is to get off.
I'v been quoted $150 just to check pump timing on mine

Re: anyone in CHCH area know how to replace injector pumps seal
I have a 2.8 bighorn, same motor and pump, as was said above the 300 in truck job would most likely be to just replace the back seal which is only half a fix
I had the same problem with mine and puled the pump out ... i bit of a mission but doable ... then a complete recon cost $1200 this was done because if the back seal has gone so have the ones on the inside are also on their way out because it's the diesel that has killed the seals
the rebuild was done by a pro as they have all the gear to set them up again.
I may be able find the info on removing the pump if you want it

There is no mechanical problem so difficult that it cannot be solved by brute strength and ignorance.

Re: anyone in CHCH area know how to replace injector pumps seal
if you could get me the info that be mint.
Only started leaking since giving bio diesel a whirl next door to work.
Think that may have caused it? or just coincidence?
What ya thoughts on that??

That's when mine got worse ...
When I spoke to the guys that serviced it they said that it was likely that the seals were on their way out and the Bio fuel just hurries it along ... original seals in the vehicle and about the time the new diesel came out.
Also replace all the flexible fuel hoses between the firewall, filter, pump and injector return as on of these will start leaking or as happened to me the injector return split and sprayed fuel all around the engine bay and the road and drive ... you could almost see the fuel gauge going down.
re instructions PM me an Email address and I will send them to you
( I have them as a PDF )
