blow bolds for tool chests

Post by new2zukes »

well it got me thinking if you buy an empty tool chest but have all the tools you need but want some blow molds to store your tools neatly, do they sell them seperate or do you have to go buy the tools. as i have alot of the tools i need but am going to be getting a tool chest to store them all in as i might be moving to a differant location for working on me truck and want all me tools in one place. so can anyone shed some light on this.

I'd try harass a tradeszone and see what they say. That oasis crap florists use would suck as it holds water and falls apart into tiny particles. Closed cell foam thats petroleum resistant could work but itd be a bit of work cutting it all out. Could you make a thin insert with elastic straps to hold all the tools in place and you just slide em under the loops for storage?? Use a staple gun and a strip of elastic even??

use this method to mould around the tools... then make sure theres a couple of bits around the tool to be able to lift it easily, then remove tools and paint with rhino liner type stuff.. easy to mould, strong, easy to clean.

Its called oasis. Just push your tools in and you will have a mould. No cutting required. Then just paint it up like what niblik said. Will seal it up and stop it breaking up. Just dont get it wet cos it is made to hold water and will hold it for ages

You can buy tool board foam, and just cut out to the shape of the tools where you want them. Takes abit of work but done well is handy, most places should have it. See it in use quiet abit now.
