Yeah that's true. It's going down ethe other side that's the hard part. It's a really cool place mr tboon, lots of play areas etc. I'm amazed how much it changes every time I go up! Maybe the dozer. Should wait a bit longer before tidying up the easy side tho
phone Ross Bolus (secretary of the BOP club) He'll save you.

Quite keen do go up and over, is one direction better than the other ?

Re: Waikato Thompson Track
Going up on a bike like fbrick or riding passenger with someone thats gone through before would be the best way to see it for the first time.
Like nathan said it seems to change quite a bit so theres always something new to surprise you....probably means we don't get out enough really haha.

T-boom ,before you head over the kati kati side , take you truck , completley bury the winch / front of truck in the biggest , stickiest, nastiest mud hole you can find.
make sure the winch works underwater, and that you can get at the winch / rope / hooks etc.
Kaimai mud is something else .
those are the conditions your winch will have to operate in all day.
,some of the holes could easily be over the top of your bonnet with a bit of rain and make sure your coey is happy to go mud wading.
be prepared for snapped winch ropes , blocked radiators , burnt out starters and alternators , and dead battery's.
not trying to put you off , is a fun bit of track , but trucks have been stuck in their for weeks waiting to get recovered

Make sure you lads take plenty of photos and post them up here when you get back... for those of us whose wagons haven't been going for awhile and may be suffering from withdrawals
