Rallywoods??? What do I need.

Post by Greenhorne »

I have been browsing through the trip forums and I have a couple of questions for the wellington boys,

1) How often do you do overnight trips to Rallywoods.
2) What do I need to bring (as I have nothing so have to do some shopping).
3) Do I need a couple of Jerry cans for fuel.
4) How long dose it take to get to Rallywoods.
5) Will my truck still resamble a Nissan when I get home.
6) Where is it I have tryed Google earth but nothing.

I will think of some more questions over the next week or two and at this stage I am looking at coming to Rallywoods for Queensbirthday weekend to watch some carnage.

Sorry for all the questions but my experence is limited to afternoon trips and I have never been camping apart from school camp some 30 years ago

turn up this weekend for the track clearing, or even just to come in for dinner and a few quiets to meet some of the locals

its easier to follow someone the first time you go in otherwise you could cock it up

if ya want to someone will meet you on haywards road in the morning or we can meet you at end of day to take you in on sat

or whatever

let us know

PM or post up here or my cell is listed down below somewhere

1) How often do you do overnight trips to Rallywoods. LOTS OVER SUMMER, NOT SO MUCH OVER WINTER
2) What do I need to bring (as I have nothing so have to do some shopping). EVERYTHING YOU CAN THINK OF
3) Do I need a couple of Jerry cans for fuel. DEPENDS HOW THIRSTY YA WAGON IS AND HOW MUCH LEAD IS IN YOUR FOOT, BUT GENERALLY EXTRA FUEL IS NOT NEEDED
4) How long dose it take to get to Rallywoods.40 MINS FROM HAYWARDS HILL ROAD
5) Will my truck still resamble a Nissan when I get home. DEPENDS IF YOU FOLLOW TAZ01 OR NOT6) Where is it I have tryed Google earth but nothing. WILL PM A LINK, IF I CAN WORK IT OUT

It varies but usually once or twice a month

2) What do I need to bring (as I have nothing so have to do some shopping).
just a sleeping bag and a bit of food etc, Green hut is about 20x15m and sleeps 20+ people but a lot tend to stay in the back of their vehicles to get away from the snoring, theres a large outdoor gazebo with a big wood fired BBQ/Bonfire and we tend to spend all our time out there, theres an old lister generator so theres power and lighting on site, heaps of flat grass and tent areas, flushing toilets and hot showers if you bring a gas botle

3) Do I need a couple of Jerry cans for fuel.
Nup most of its short tracks so you should be ok unless you've got a hot 383 chevy and a heavy foot

4) How long dose it take to get to Rallywoods.
about 20-30 mins from Haywoods hill Rd

5) Will my truck still resamble a Nissan when I get home.
That depends on you, easy to hard tracks and you can pick and choose what you want to drive?

6) Where is it I have tryed Google earth but nothing.
Its part of the Akatawara block, you turn off Haywoods hill Rd and go down Moonshine Rd then Bulls Run Rd and then up a private loging road up to Rallywoods, its quite near to Totara Park and you can overlook Upper Hutt from parts of Rallywoods

You need Sadam's boss, he gets heaps of time off.

With luck, your Nissan will resemble a nice well-made Korean truck of enormous fame by the time you get it back.

BASTARDS!!!!! Ok, you ratbags, WAR has been declared. Age and cunning allied with patience and vindictiveness will win out in the end. I got all of these things.

Greenhorne, you have already found them what you need to avoid.
PR is in Chch, and has too many toes and fingers from all that inbreeding, so HE can be ignored.

The others? trust them not, they purport to be friends, then turn on you like rabid weasels they are, at the slightest provocation.

-41.089298,175.043074 plug this in to Google Maps, its the Green Hut at Rallywoods.

Shoes with good grip are essential as there is always lots of mud
As are warm clothes, drinking water and a torch.

Most importantly listen to what the guys advise, they won't put you wrong.

First low, you can't go wrong :-)

I was probably cooking dinner for the likes of your fat ass

So Greenhorne the rules are, don't bend over near Bob, don't listen to taz, don't go driving with Jerry(not that he has a 4wd), don't offer to take kim and Z in your pos, don't drink Beer_crusers beers unless you have more of the same, don't ever ever follow bubba and sarah in the dark, learn to start the jenny first time out, cut plenty of wood, don't let jerry cook eggs, take earplugs, bring chocolate, Jumper will protect you from the frogs, it is ok to dunk Kim in the dam if he annoys you, avoid possums home brew, stab someones tyre just to see reece in action mode, invite bolo and spewbee up so you can abuse them on the forum for being pussy wipped, ask mudnutz before eating any curries, ask blackdeath to take you for a ride in his pos, and Abbo is not as scary as he looks

Well that is not my chair Bob, that is YOUR chair and is made to the same high standard that you pos is made to. Unlike my fine pos that is not falling apart at the seams. Actually sounds like your chair, your pos and you are all the worse for wear, aging and falling apart

And the other vital item you will need if you drive a pos like Bob's, is one of these

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Car-parts-accessories/Other-accessories/auction-289618590.htm

Cause otherwise the poor buggers pushing the broken down pos will complain at getting cold hands all the time

Already fitted as a factory item.
seems to work well too.

I can understand your envy, you being a Nissan owner, and that highly techo things like rear window demisters excite awe and wonder in your tiny wee mind, but we owners of more modern vehicles take these things in our stride.
