Jammed up gearbox in my series LR

Post by Nizsafari »

Hey all.

One minute i had gears now nothing, the leaver wont select anything for some reason. Ive tried gentle persuasion and harsh words but nothing apart from a slightly bent gear lever now... is this a common fault??

Have you tried a larger hammer on teh leaver, does the 4wd leaver work as well?

The transfer case levers work fine.. just the gear lever, it moves freely in neutral, just wont select any of the gears

Take the shifter off and see if you can move the shift rods manually

Na its easy as. Its like 4 bolts and the shifter comes off. The shift rods are external so you can see em. Then just play around with them and see if they move.
