Anybody got a factory 1HDT exhaust lying around?

Post by Andrew1706 »

I want to chuck a 3" exhaust on my 80 series but I see on the autobend website theres more then one listing for the 3 bolt flange on the downpipe elbow off the back off the turbo

Anyone able to get me a measurement from off the truck? I've tried measuring on the truck but get different numbers all the time... I need the pcd of the 3 bolt holes

*facepalm*

Does anyone have suggestions for getting around corroded and 'about to round off' downpipe bolts?

I've got a feeling one is close to rounding off and if it does it means pulling the entire exhaust manifold and turbo off and angle grinding the #### out of everything and replacing studs etc...

Come on 'awesome 4wd community' surely someone can help

Use a 6 sided socket? If it still rounds off try splitting the nut with a small sharp cold chisel. If youve got access to a gas plant heat the nut before trying to undo it

Yup been there done that.
Cold chisel  , and try to peel off one side. Once its split, they spin off easy. :D

Well I had a shot at a 6 sided socket tonight, rounded them off, swore lots.

Looks like the whole manifold/turbo/downpipe deal is going to have to come off, I have to replace the manifold to head gasket anyway...

Sounds mean with only 400mm of exhaust
