I do my engine oil and filter every 5000k, fuel filter every 10000k and air cleaner when it's dirty. I have a washable air cleaner.
Transmission I get done at an auto shop as they service it too, Hi/Lo transmission and diffs I check twice a year.

Easiest way to remove the oil filter is to go through the wheel well, jack up and remove the passenger wheel, break the seal on the filter then place 2 supermarket bags over the filter. Unscrew it and let it fall into the bags, twist the end, lay horizontally and remove. Place a large rag in there to collect any drips. This is the best way I have found to prevent oil collecting and dripping everywhere.
Remember to place a smear of oil on the rubber seal of the new filter when replacing it.

It's a personal preference really but I use a washable filter "unifilter" is the brand. I have kept my paper filter as a spare all the same.
When draining the sump, be prepared for a major gush as the oil travels quite a distance as the bung comes out.

plastic bag idea = full of win

wish I'd thought of that, I made a bit of a mess last time (first time)

what sort of oil do you guys use? im using castrol gtx professional, just get it in a 20L as opposed to a 4L and it becomes 'pro' :D

I'd be interested to know if anyone uses tection hd as it has more cleaning additives etc in it. I might change oils when I've used this container up

I use Valvoline as it is what the dealer used when the truck came into the country.
