FJ40 respray

Post by coops »

Hey guys anybody out there know of a good panel beater/ painter in the Wellington region (or are one themselves and want a cash job) looking at doing a full respray on the 40, before putting in new weather seals along with a few other bits in pieces.

She’s in pretty good shape and would not take too much work the rear bedpan has a few holes where the compressor used to bolt through the floor (now just rests on top) and where the LPG tank used to reside, also the rear guards have some surface rust only, which wouldn’t take too much work (hopefully).

Any info would be greatly appreciated :D

Depends on what sort of quality you want an how much youre willing to pay
If you want cheap an rough try the more truck orientated places in seaview like lowes, allen rae, etc. I paneled an painted mine an it turned out ok but its too dam cold this time of year for painting without a heated booth

Cheers for that Fakey, I'm after a top finish even thought about a bare metal respray and am still considering it at this stage but all depends on what kind of deal I can strike.

At this stage considering gun metal grey with an anodised black colour for the roof. will post pics when i get it under way.
