Leading a club trip to the westcoast basing in Greymouth. Doing Mt Greenland saturday, into the Alexander powerhouse track (recently opened up) on Sunday and good old Cockeye creek for a laugh on Monday. Only 4 trucks going so minimal delays. Should be interesting.

Serviced L200 and removed the carpets.
Just need some bucket seats for it now. I'm getting sick of the bench seat. For hunting its a PITA!

Serviced the Zooki as well, and tried to see why it's stalling sometimes when pulling up to lights etc. Only does it with everything on (ie radio, A/C, lights and heater fan). Couldn't see anything wrong...yet. Will keep looking.

Well my back managed to drop to a dull ache thanks to some pretty wicked drugs

Image
so i managed to tag along to the Poutu run .. left Te Kopuru at 9.30 and took a quick strop down the beach to the light house, unfortunately the whale couldn't quite make it to the top under her own power and had to be snatched the last little bit. did the poser shots then explored the dunes,

Image

some of the dunes were pretty soft

by the time we finished playing in the sand the tide had come in and we had to follow the locals formed access track that runs almost the entire length of the beach behind the dunes, most of the time a very rugged narrow track not suited for whales

Image

only down side was i lost me nuts

fooking alloy rims, no matter how tight you do the nuts up they seem to work loose  the LHF wheel managed to rip all but one nut off  pinched a nut off each wheel and managed to limp though the rest of the day (maybe i should have polished them instead of getting out and playing  )

I was in mangere yesterday, Left new plymouth at 5am yesterday, drove to Auckland an bought some new toys
Didnt get back to new plymouth till half 11 last night after realising My new 24v 70 had blown all my 12v trailer lights except the led number plate light  . Called into truckstops hamilton at 8.30pm an got the on call mechanic to get me some 24v bulbs, its good to work for a nation wide company.
I found the 70 also has some wiring issues. every now an then the temp an fuel guages would go right up altho not always together. Even tho I was towing a heavy trailer the engine wasnt getting overly hot so theres something ill need to sort soon cos it was makin me really paranoid:evil:

Club trip to coast was awesome. Mt Greenland had all the good challenges and obstacles, we made it to the top without too much drama and a good amount of road building. We all had to use our winche two or four times. It was very muddy and slippery.A group behind us gave up at the mudholes.
It poured down saturday night.
Sunday we went down Snowy river road, Ikamatua, to the Alexander river to head up to the old powerhouse. Good rock hopping, river crossings, lockers and crawlers all doing their job.
Poured again last night. We snuck our noses down Staircase creek to the Upper Gray just to kill a few hours. The tight road near the slip is now definitely not a goer as part of it gave way under my tyre. The boys have made sure the bypass track is easily doable.
We deicided to bail this morning looking at the weather forecast coming in for snow on the passes. No serious damage, just some panels, snorkel hat, cb aerial, punctured tyre.
And no I didn't get pics pete as I hardly take them. Heaps of Vid got taken by pigfarmer though.

Ok, went to the top of the south winch challenge, only spectating and taking photos, lots of mud plenty of challenging sections, sunday was the best day for spectating except the weather, the sections were quite close together and very challenging, after watching how busy the winch bi#$%es were gives you a whole new respect fo them and thier position on a winch challenge team!!
