My 70series cruiser

Post by cruzerboy »

Well it was pritty much standed when i got it apart from bullbar and snorkel
Then i put 50mm lifted springs and 50mm body lift and put 35s on it

Image
Image

then it went down hill from there put a winch and a rear lokka in it then did a shakel revesel so i could move the diff ford went up worslys and stacked it at 11oclook at nightlol the i thoght it would be a good idear too do a SOA and make it higher

Image
Image

then i farked around with the springs a bit too get it too flex a bit better and lower it a bit

Image
Image

then i put a set of 37s on it   and tryed too roll it again

Image
Image

then i blew the lokka too bits so i decided too change evry thing again. Make it stronger and wider so im putting nissan safarifront diff with coils under it and 80series landcruiser diff with the leefs inthe rear and this is how it sits

Image
Image

this is how its been sitting for the last 2 months ill finsh it one day doesnt help that i bort another toy and been working on that

Loving the flex from SOA etc... Any reason you decided Safari Diff with coils upfront and 80 Series with leaves in the rear?

I couldnt find a 80 diff for the front and i got the safari one cheap and it stronger than the toyota one.Im leven it leefs in the back cos it flexs good in the back so dont wana change what already works and im thinking of putting drop skackels in the rear.have 2 coil front cos the srings too close together and would be on top of diff head and i was having problems with the springs hitting the tierod so i decide coils will solve the problem

Thats one way to improve a nissian I guess lol

Do you find the diff covered in oil and crap, from when the rest of the Toyota parts spit on it?

Whats it like having a wider front than the back, do you even notice the difference. Does it make a difference on the trail with rutts etc. Are you planning on countering it with spacers in the rear?

you will enjoy the extra width with these diffs. my bj73 has 80 series diffs and suspension in it with 36'' simexs on it. great on the side of a hill. are you changing the brake booster and master cylinder from an 80 to match the rest of the brakes? if so get them from a pre 93 80 series as they bolt up with just a little loving to the brake lines to the master cylinder. unless the diffs are after 93(bigger brakes)

oh you will also need the 80 series brake pedal as well. with the pedal you will need to bend it towards the drivers seat(many many cuts down the spine and reweld) the 70 pedal doesnt fit as well from memory.
