Measured up the intercooler frame to fit into my L200.
Just got to make a few "adjustments" and it'll be good.
Cleaned up the intercooler and other parts to go on. Made gasket to block EGR port in manifold, just go to make blanking plate for it now. :)
Spent rest of day stripping and cleaning rifle ready for a hunt

Worked this morning, then fixed some rust round the back door in mums wagon.
While the bog was drying I attacked the front of the 70. I cut off the ugly chrome diving board front bumper leaving only the centre section that holds the PTO winch. Stripped the fairlead rollers, cleaned an regreased the pins. Fitted a rated tow hook an put the winch hook from the 40s winch onto the PTO winch cable. It used to have a d shackle with a bolt thru it
Beer an pizza o,clock now

went back into the Akas for the second weekend in row. Very familiar with the place now.

Was nice and greasy in there and found some new areas to visit.

Came up the zig zag and these guys were waterblasting the pylons. Hard to see but theres a guy about 2/3 of the way up and it was a chilly breeze too.............

maintenance mode this weekend, washed all the mud off the mistress from the quarry run last weekend, bloody thing took ages to start too,

looks like ive now reduced the fuel capability of the mistress by about 10 liters judging by the new dent in the fuel tank, did the check fluid levels etc and pulled the alternator and cleaned all the crap out of it.

dragged out the spare rear diff in readiness to the Whangarei 4wd clubs mud drags next month, going to weld it up and fit it for the mud drags and club runs for the rest of winter then remove it and refit the open diff so I can compete in the next round of club champs in the same class as i'm in now.

washed the whale and removed the 13m of stuffed wire rope off the PTO and fitted 35m of new(ish) stuff thanks to my boss!

Spent yesterday moring getting this out of the river http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/artic ... d=10653173 (no i wasnt in the vehicle), but typical media talking rubbish and SAR going abit over the top (no disrespect to them at all) but the river wasn't dangerously swollen we walked out to it a couple of times hooking ropes up and the water was at the same level as the night before. Was abit of fun to get out, will try to get some pics up later tonight.

:) Spent a lot of the weekend fitting a winch mount to the hilux, got most of it done, didnt trust the alloy TJM winch bar so have modified the mount for the bar to hold the whole winch assembly, the bar now just bolts over the top of the winch bracket, so its only purpose now is cosmetic and of course the whole dangerous external projection law for wof. :)
Most of it is made out of 6mm steel plate and is gusseted so weighs a ton, but by f#$k its strong, if this bends the front of the lux will just about be pulled out of the truck

Put a new head in the Surf
Since it was apart I also removed the throttle butterfly and all of the EGR plumbing, put in a new radiator, external trans cooler, new belts, oil, ATF and filters.
Took her for a run this arvo and am happy with the results...EGT's @ 100km/h on flat road are 350 (pre turbo) with water at 85. Used to run about 450-475 and 90.
