Had a nosey at it. no rust my arse 
Turned up and it stank of fresh paint. All the rust (in all the usual places) has been painted over. The RH bonnet hinge had seized (as they do with lack of use - re lack of checking oil/water) so had ripped out of firewall. Engine appeared to run alright. Major driveline vibration and noise. Could be collasped bearing. Doubt it is the CV as he thinks
