Yeah. The Bighorn has the same motor. It could actually be better to get a Bighorn engine cos they have an Intercooler. May consider buying another truck if this way is too expensive. Then chuck all my gear onto it.

This was not a planned thing. A bit like your landy I guess. How is your truck coming along?

Last Resort???!!! It should be way further up the list than that...

Have a trademe search for 4JB1 - thats the 2.8 engine code. Bighorn would be good, although not sure if the intercooler scoop will fit the bonnet profile very well

Also have an ask on http://www.clubisuzu.com as there are some guys on there who might have a few tips on where to try.

Oh, and you will wish that the truck was SASd by the time you get the engine out - if its anything like a Bighorn you will either need to drop the front suspension or pull half the bottom end off the motor before you can get the motor out of the bay...

As an afterthought, also have a look at the 3.1 motors - you can buy MU's with them in dereg'd every now and then for silly money... like around $2k... lots of spare parts when you're done swapping donks - hell, I'll buy the doors off you... want to make some cut-down doors for summer rock trips.

They have a weak turbo.. but the 2.8 turbo can be retrofitted... they also have a rep for doing heads if not well maintained... Otherwise they are about as reliable as any other modern high-output diesel.

Any other dumb questions?
