Hi! New 4wdriver

Post by Surf n Snow »

Hi Guys,
Found this site a few weeks back and have found lots of usefull info. im looking to sell my wrx and use some of the funds to off-road ready my truck.
i have a '93 kzn130 surf, 1kzgte engine with 5 speed box, 31x10.5" pirelli atr tyres... standard and really used, has 433,000 on the clock.
have many plans for it, starting with things like; fix up the window electrics, paint, bullbars/winch, has a g294 diff, (learnt from on here that is 4.1 ratio 4 spider open diff, yea?) so wanting to put a lockright in it to start, and make sure the front is lsd, probably 33x12.5 mudgrips and would love to oneday throw in the solid front end, BIG lift, 35" tyres, and rebuild the 1kz but swap the turbo for a supercharger.

but will leave the technical questions out of my intro for now...

i just moved so now i live about 5kms from thompsons track on the katikati side, so will be keen for some missions up there once the open diff is gone etc.

your guys advice on everything would be appreciated
Sean

Are you going from the Kati or TA side? like i said im not so keen to try going up there yet, especially after the rain, for fear my diffs/tyres/skill will let me down!
but i have just listed my wrx on trademe, so with any luck will be able to start some mods soon, just incase any of you are wanting a road/(sealed)track toy...

Hey Lincoln,

It is the TA side as the Kati is going to be a mission especially after all this rain the TA side should be ok.
